About English Road

A free, grammar-first road from A1 to C2

English Road is an independent, free English grammar course. Every CEFR level is broken into clear grammar milestones with explanations, real examples and practice — no account needed.

Grammar-first

Each lesson focuses on one construction — what it means, how it is formed and when to use it — instead of long word lists.

7 interface languages

Explanations, hints and the interface are available in English, Spanish, German, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and Ukrainian. Example sentences stay in English.

Free, no account

Every lesson, exercise and tool is free. You do not need to sign up: your progress is saved only in your own browser.

Who makes English Road

English Road is an independent project created and maintained by Denys Pavliuk, a software developer from Ukraine. There is no publisher or investor behind it — just one goal: a clear, structured and free path to confident English for learners everywhere.

How lessons are written and checked

Every lesson starts from the CEFR level descriptors and the grammar usually taught at that level. Each lesson focuses on one construction and builds it up step by step: a short explanation of what it means and how it is formed, real example sentences, and exercises with answers.

Drafts may be prepared with the help of AI writing tools. Each lesson is then reviewed and edited before publication, and every exercise is checked automatically — for example, that each multiple-choice answer points to a valid option. Localised versions add notes on the mistakes speakers of each language typically make.

We correct errors as soon as they are reported. If you spot a mistake or an unclear explanation, email hello@englishroad.app and we will fix it.

Aligned with the CEFR

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) describes language ability in six levels, from A1 (beginner) to C2 (mastery). Our 48 lessons are grouped by these levels, so you can start at your own level and move up step by step.

How the site is funded

English Road stays free because it shows ads from Google AdSense. Ads load only after you accept them in the cookie banner; if you decline, you can use the whole site without ads. The Privacy Policy explains the details.
